From sleep apnea to occupational medicine‚ walk-in clinics in Jack son ville are offering expanded health- care choices for residents.
For instance‚ Med Care of North Carolina‚ which opened a Jacksonville clinic in October of 2005‚ greets walk-in patients and those with appointments. The clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week and offers family medicine services‚ urgent care and minor emergency care‚ explains its founder and medical director Dr. Robert Kastner.
Med Care also offers occupational medical services‚ providing company physicals‚ drug screens and injury care to area businesses.
Dr. Kastner says his walk-in medical clinic supports area physicians.
“We do see a number of patients who already have a physician in town‚ and the physician may send the patient to us‚ after hours‚” Kastner says.
“We always make a point of trying to send the patient back to their primary-care physician.”
Meanwhile‚ Feeling Great/Second Breath focuses on sleep.
“We help people who only sleep three hours a night to sleep eight hours‚” says Bobby Watson‚ manager of Feeling Great/Second Breath.
The clinic joins five other Feeling Great/Second Breath sleep clinics in North Carolina.
Watson says resolving sleep problems can help people feel more energetic and be more productive.
Patients in need of sleep studies can visit Feeling Great/Second Breath for a cozy‚ homelike experience and a quick turn-around on their test results.
“We can get you in within 48 hours‚ do a study and get results back to the doctor within 48 to 72 hours‚” Watson says.
